Winter Made Bear-able: Arm Warmers
by Erika Dykstra

Baby, we get it, it's cold outside. In fact, it's down right freezing in some parts. But some days, when staring into our closet's deep abyss, the thought of bundling up for yet another long winter day in thick layers of thermal and wool, sends a shiver down our spine. Some days, despite what the Fahrenheit reads, we just wanna bare some skin. Not enough to get frostbitten mind you, but just enough to remind the boys that there is indeed some flesh under all these turtlenecks. So how does a gal wear a skin-baring top in the depth of winter? A tank top, halter top or even a tube top, perhaps? Try pairing your bare with a set of arm warmers.

You guessed it, they're kind of like leg warmers, but made for the arms, of course. They're like sweater sleeves that start at the fingers and end at the elbows. Just enough knit to ward off winters' chill; but little enough knit to bare your toned upper arms and shoulders.

Now we also get that if you don't live in the O.C., it may be way too cold to sport only arm warmers outdoors. But the great thing about warmers ... they work inside as well as out. Outside they'll fit snuggly under your coat; inside they add that little bit of warmth that will keep a hint of pink in your cheeks.

Keep the look casual when you pair thick-knit cotton arm warmers with a boy-beater, jeans and your favorite boots. If it's really cold out there, toss on a matching scarf. Dressing up? Thin lace or crocheted arm warmers paired with a velvet or satin cocktail dress, or maybe a frock trimmed in beads or sequins, will keep your limbs warm while you strut your fancy stuff on the dance floor.
