Actions speak louder than words. And so does that bag you're using to carry 'round your essentials. Ratty backpack? Well that whispers "poor student." Mesh beach bag? We're hearing "carefree" loud and clear. And a black, business sensible leather tote? Well that just shouts "boring." Now if you're trying to say something more like "smart, stylish, feminine, youthful, and adventurous," then perhaps you need a bag from Perfume River.
Perfume River's vibrantly colored silk shoulder bags, hand bags, totes and clutches are hand-embroidered with natural elements like dragonflies, birds, and flowers. The bags are at once whimsical and strikingly beautiful. Delightfully fun, yet stylish and refined.
So how can Perfume River say so much? We'd like to thank its lineage.
Founder Huong C. Nguyen combines her Vietnamese heritage with modern global influences. She was named for Song Huong (English translation: Perfume River), which runs through Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam and the birthplace of her father. Yet Huong has also lived and traveled around the world: from Siagon and Paris to the East and West Coasts of the U.S., including a stint in Berkley, Calif. Additionally, Huong appreciates the simplicity of nature; one-of-a-kind designs; and a gal's need to develop her own personal style. All of which fuses together in each Perfume River design.
Among our favorite fall bags is the Bella Bohemian, which combines two of season's hottest trends: velvet and BoHo chic. The tote's body is made of crisp black velvet and embroidered with green vines and a pinkish-purply floral pattern. Adjustable purple straps end in a delicate fringe. And we think this screams "wow!"
