Showing less can be so much sexier than showing more; at least that's what mama always said. So when temperatures drop this fall, follow mama's advice and play peek-a-boo with a subtly sexy chiffon blouse.
In line with this fall's ultra-feminine, ultra-luxe styles, designers are showcasing blouses in warm, rich hues like espresso and berry. Sleeves are billowy and romantic. And texture combinations are entirely unexpected: picture a flowing, long-sleeved sheer tunic belted with a bronze gold belt over tweed gaucho pants and knee-high, calf-skin boots.
And what we're wearing under, or over, the blouse is just as unpredictable. So ditch your fashion inhibitions are dare to be bold this season!
Heading out with the gals for a night on the town? Opt for a lacey bra under a sequins or beaded chiffon shirt. But instead of ubiquitous black, white or tan, choose a brassiere in plum, forest green or navy blue.
Planning the perfect get-up for a hot first date? Try a fitted, strapless corset worn over the sheer top; try one in leather, corduroy or velvet. On the bottom, dress down with distressed jeans and cowboy boots; dress up with fitted trousers and metallic pumps.
For a daytime look, top your look off with a vest. At the office, a fitted sweater vest in cashmere, cotton or wool may be your best bet. If your chiffon blouse is a solid hue, look for a patterned vest in a paisley or argyle print. Outside the workplace, try a vest made of solid sequins. Or, if you're feeling extra opulent, look for a vest made of lush rabbit fur.
