 Sparkle, shine and sh-sh-shimmer! Once reserved for prom queens and ice skaters, sequins has become an everyday embellishment. This season, find sequins adorning garments from flip flops and tank tops, to summer skirts and shrugs.
Delicate and shiny, but with a hint of rock 'n roll: How should you wear the mirrored marvel? For day or night, we've got five ideas sure to dazzle, while keeping you from looking like a disco relic.
On Your Feet
Whether you prefer ballerina flats or kitten heels, you're sure to find a to-die-for sequins slip-on at your favorite department store or shoe boutique. Use a shiny pair to gussy up a staid summer suit or a flat cotton sundress. Among our favorites: almost-flat, round-toes from Irregular Choice.
 Belt It
Proud of your waistline? Show it off with a sparkling sash wrapped 'round the top of your cropped denim jeans (try white ones for extra oomph!). We like an all-over sequins sash with super-long satin ties.
Sprinkles: a Summer Treat
A dusting of sequins can turn full skirts and gauzy, colorful tunics, from hippie-dippie into bohemian chic. Loving the look, and planning on wearing it more than a season? Look for sewn-on (instead of glued-on) sequins. It might cost more, but the extra ducats will pay off when you launder.
