Whoever said "less is more" was just plain wrong (and probably a bit boring, but that's another issue altogether). We believe that less is less, while more is more. And this season, the more the better, especially when it comes to necklaces.
In the early '00s, minimalism ruled jewelry. And to tell you the truth, we are so glad that era is over. Bring on the girly glitz! This season, long strings of alternating turquoise and dark wood beads - wrapped at least three around the neck - sit atop a bright red ribbed tank. While multiple strands
of chunky, coral beads - perhaps punctuated with pebbled-shaped, gold beads - spruce up a tailored brown pant suits. Bohemian chic is oh-so-in, and these layered, earthy necklaces are just two ways to show off your trendy sense of style.
Prefer your glam with a little rock-n-roll? Try a cross encrusted with colorful Swarovski crystals and dangling valiantly from a chain of gold hoops. Just be sure to pile on at least two or three of these necklaces at a time. Remember: more is more!
Attending afternoon tea with grandma? A night at the opera? Or heading out to another cut-throat day at the office? Instead of strings of pearls, updated your layered look with a necklace that-with one single clasp-offers three, four or even five rows of pea-sized beads in deep purple, iridescent pink or baby blue hues.
Where to find layered necklaces? You're in luck! They're cropping up everywhere from H&M and Banana Republic, to Bloomingdales and Neiman Marcus. And you'll probably spot them at nearly every boutique in between. Just shop, layer, and ye shall receive!
